Guidelines on Waseda Clubs

*Prohibition on Extracurricular Activities (2021.05.17)*

Waseda has recently announced prohibition on extracurricular activities during the State of Emergency.

Starting from Tuesday (May 18th), until the end of the State of Emergency (May 30th as of now), all practices and extracurricular activities will be prohibited and club/practice rooms in the Student Center will be closed. 

Please Cancel or Postpone all events, even if you have obtained permission.

The only exception for club activities are those done online, where members do not need gather.

Restrictions on Extracurricular Activities (2021.04.16)

As countermeasures for COVID-19, Waseda University decided to,

1. Strictly prohibit get-togethers, drinking parties, etc.

2. Prohibit participation in competitions / events held off campus

3. ONLY online events with no spectators are allowed

4. You can continue practice activities and use of campus facilities (ex. Waseda Student Center)

5. Refrain from moving across prefectural borders whenever possible

On the Phased Resumption of Extracurricular Activities (2021.03.19)

① Keep the Basic Preventive Measures

* washing/sanitizing your hands

* wearing a mask

* avoiding the 3Cs (closed spaces with poor ventilation; crowded places; and close-contact settings)

* avoiding the 5 situations that increase the risk of infection

- drinking alcohol at social gatherings

- having meals in a large group for a long time

- having conversations without a mask

- living together in a small, limited space

- switching locations

② Required Documents for Extracurricular Activities

Please download the required application form below and submit it to the Student Affairs Section prior to the event to receive approval.

A. Application form for Hosting Events and Performances (at least 1 month before the activity)

B. Application form for training camps(合宿) and expeditions(遠征) (at least 14 days before the activity)

C. Application form for Lodging (at least 14 days before the activity)

D. Report form for training camps(合宿) and expeditions(遠征) (at least 7 days before the activity)

E. Checklist • Agreement for using the Student Center (on the day of activity)

F. List of participants / Record of activities (for all extracurricular activities)

③ Activities that will remain prohibited

•Social gatherings such as drinking parties, etc. (Includes those that are organized voluntarily)
•Activities that require overnight stays (Excluding participation of competitions and organization of events/performances, etc. pre-approved by the University)
