New RE-ENTRY Restrictions (2021.05.14)

* Re-entry to Japan is strongly restricted for those who stayed in the following countries

   within the past 14 days (active from May 14th)

● India

● Pakistan

● Nepal

Entering Japan with <NEW ENTRY> Status (2021.04.29)

* New entry from "all countries / regions" has been suspended from April 29th, 2021

* Visa issuance are currently suspended 

Entering Japan with <RE-ENTRY> Status (2021.04.29)

* You can enter Japan if you have a valid residence card (在留カード)

* The status of residence will be INVALID if,

① You have a residence status with upper limit of 1 year

② You have stayed outside of Japan for more than 1 year

* When entering Japan, please follow the strengthened quarantine measures

If you would enter Japan after March 19th, 2021, YOU NEED

① Submission of an inspection certificate for COVID-19 (required for all)

* Has to be taken within 72 hours before the departure.
* If you cannot submit the inspection certificate for COVID-19, you will not be allowed to enter Japan (You will not be able to board an aircraft at the place of departure).
* If you cannot obtain an inspection certificate for COVID-19 by all means, please consult the diplomatic establishments abroad at the place of departure.

② Taking a COVID-19 test when you enter Japan

If you have stayed in the 29 countries / regions below within the past 14 days, you will need the following:
(* Ireland, United Arab Emirates, Israel, Italy, Ukraine, United Kingdom, Estonia, Austria, Netherlands, Canada (Ontario), Switzerland, Sweden, Spain, Slovakia, Czech Republic, Denmark, Germany, Nigeria, Pakistan, Hungary, Philippines, Finland , Brazil, France, Belgium, Poland, South Africa, Luxembourg, Lebanon)

④ Installation / Registration of Smartphone Apps (iOS: 13.5 or higher / Android OS: 6.0 or higher)
