Although Japan has announced its state of emergency, Waseda will stick to their original plan of having 70% of their class to in person classes. This plan will remain until there is a drastic change in COVID situation.

To allow for students to receive in person teaching safely, Waseda has been placing in new air conditioning units. This will allow for circulation of 30 cubic meters per hour per person. Also there will be social distancing measures in place.

Waseda notices that the Freshman have not been able to connect with others and have felt isolated. For this reason Waseda is planning to be able to bring its students back on campus. Coming back to campus will not be compulsory and online classes will still be continued.
